Road Rube Rides
Goshen to Pierceton
Distance: 30 miles
Time: 47 minutes
Goshen to Pierceton Motorcycle Ride is a peaceful ride through the Indiana countryside
The fact that the road is in good shape is probably a testament to the lack of traffic on it. I took Highway 15 south from Goshen to New Paris and then cut over east through New Paris on 46. Then take 29 south which merges into 13 in Syracuse for the rest of the ride to Pierceton. The speed limit is 45 for the first stretch from Goshen. It increases to 50 and 55 at different stretches.
I’ve got to be honest…this is not a super motorcycle ride. It’s just a road in the middle of Indiana that isn’t an interstate or toll road. There’s a little bit of traffic along the way, but it’s a slow-paced road without the stresses of the city. The countryside is farmland and flat, but it’s not the rat race. The ride is a diversion from the heavy traffic of the corridor between Chicago, Cleveland and Indianapolis. That’s pretty much it, though. Just a diversion.
The Bottom Line
Eh. Don’t go out of your way to take this ride. It can be a means to an end by heading south toward greener motorcycle roads in southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
