Valley Parkway - Cleveland Metro Oasis Ride
Distance: 20 miles
Time: 34 minutes
Valley Parkway in Cleveland Metro Area is an oasis from the big city
The Valley Parkway runs through the middle of the greater Cleveland metro area. I came in from the Lake Erie lakeshore drive so I went from north to south. I came in through Rocky River and got on Valley Parkway from there. Just follow the Parkway all the way to the south end of the park. The road is in excellent condition throughout the park.
This was a very pleasant surprise. I planned on taking the ride after a couple rides to the west of Cleveland and wasn’t excited to be in the middle of Cleveland – or any major metro area for that matter. I made my way to the north end of the Valley Parkway and was instantly transported (literally and figuratively) into another world.
It wasn’t an exciting motorcycle road, but it was a perfect motorcycle road in an urban area. It was quiet and wooded as the road followed the river at 30 mph. The park is surrounded by civilization, but the only indication of that is the interstate and train bridges towering over the park.
The Bottom Line
It’s not curvy. You don’t accelerate out of curves or lean the bike too much. But it is relaxing and a true oasis in the middle of the urban jungle. Way better than driving the interstate.
